Find what feels right to you

Humans are complex and ever evolving. I take a mind, body, and soul approach to therapy, so there are many different avenues we can explore in our work together.

While individual therapy looks different depending on the person, generally speaking, we will start with an intake assessment; where I will ask questions about what brought you into therapy, your family of origin, your mental health history, and any family mental health history that would be important to note. In addition, we will iron out some of your goals for therapy.

Individual Counseling

Whether you and your partner are navigating conflict or standing at a relationship crossroads, couples counseling offers valuable support and guidance to enhance your relationship.  I use Gottman Couples Counseling theory, which starts with a Two Part assessment. After assessment, we will take a multifaceted approach to building your partnership.

Supervision for Licensure

Show yourself grace; you are still learning.

Show yourself patience; you are on a journey.

Engaging the mind involves exploring cognitive patterns and fostering self-awareness. Addressing the body focuses on physical well-being through exercise, nutrition, and mindfulness. Working with the spirit integrates spiritual practices for a sense of purpose and connection. This includes mindfulness and existential exploration for inner peace and wholeness. The approach combines mental, physical, and spiritual elements for overall well-being

"My experience with Kristy has been truly illuminating and incredibly beneficial. Over the years, I've conquered numerous hurdles that I wouldn't wish upon anyone, and Kristy has provided me with a safe haven to express vulnerability while maintaining an open and non-judgmental atmosphere. She doesn't simply listen; she actively assists me in uncovering insights I had never considered before, deftly guiding me through complex thoughts and emotions. Furthermore, her relatability adds a valuable dimension to our therapeutic relationship. Working with Kristy has been a transformative journey, and I'm grateful for her unwavering support and expertise."

  • Yes I do! I accept Aetna, Cigna, United, Anthem BCBS PPO, Oxford and Oscar. If you would like to use your insurance, please go through my Headway link. Headway handles all insurance billing.   On the right side of the page, click “Add Insurance”. There you can add your insurance information to see how much your session would cost based on your insurance coverage.

If you would like to use Out-of-Network benefits, I am able to provide a billing statement that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement if they offer that type of program.

Otherwise, I do also offer Self-Pay Session at $120 for a 55-minute session.

  • At the end of our first appointment, I will make a treatment recommendation. Typically, when starting therapy, I recommend weekly appointments. Similar to personal training or physical therapy, we want to meet frequently at the beginning of treatment in order to build healthy habits. Meeting weekly helps us build our relationship and it also helps get you in the practice of carving out time for your own healing and inner work.

With that being said, therapy should work for you. If weekly appointments are not doable for you, that is OK. I’m happy to work with you on what best fits into your schedule

  • Before your first appointment, you will be asked to review and complete intake. In the Intake Paperwork, there are general consents and an Intake Questionnaire with a variety of questions that we will go over in our first session. I ask that you complete it before our session, as we may not be able to get to every topic. Some questions may not pertain to you and others will take some time to go over.

In general, you can expect that I will ask questions about your family of origin; including who you were raised by, what your upbringing was like, and how you would describe those core relationships. I will ask about your physical health, including any relevant medical concerns. I will ask you about hobbies and things you enjoy. I will also ask about trauma, abuse, and neglect. In addition, I will ask if you  have any spiritual beliefs that are important to you.

Please note, if there are any topics that are off limits for you, please let me know. Some topics may be too challenging to talk about at the beginning, and that is OK. I will guide us in your therapy journey, but you can set the pace.

  • This is a tough question. If you are looking for support on something specific, you could expect to be in therapy for 3-6 months. However, many of my clients stay in therapy for 1-3 years, while some stay even longer. Humans are complex and ever evolving, so there are always more layers to peel back. I take a mind, body, and soul approach to therapy, so there are lots of different avenues we can explore. I hope to guide you as you explore, health, and embrace all sides of yourself; and I don’t know about you, but I have a lot of sides, so that process can take some time.

Again, you are the expert on yourself. Whenever you feel you have reached your treatment goals, you can decrease the frequency of your sessions or step away from therapy entirely.

  • I am in the process of looking for an office space, so currently, I am only offering virtual appointments. I hope to have the office up and running by February 2024. At that time, I will offer in person and virtual appointments.

If you are interested in virtual appointments, I use the platform “Doxy”. I will send you a confidential link prior to your session.

  • Currently, I am doing my own scheduling. If you are interested in scheduling with me, please give me a call at: 720-377-8071. This is a confidential phone number that only I have access to.

I offer a free 30-minute consultation call if you have questions and would like to see if we are a good fit. If you’re interested in a consultation, please give me a call at the same number: 720-377-8071

  • For the first session, I’ll use 90791: Intake Assessment
For ongoing appointments, I use the code 90837: Therapy session 53+ minutes
